By Vicki Gee-Treft Bring some fiery orange color to your garden with Flamma (“The Flame”) Celosia, a 2022 All America Selections’ (AAS) Ornamental Winner. This bushy 9-11” variety has numerous light green branches and foliage, each with a strong 5” flower plume, as well as secondary blooms that won’t fade. Whether you decide to grow this in beds (10-12” apart) or in containers, you will have a great show of orange color all season long for our sun-loving pollinator friends. AAS Judges were impressed with the superior garden performance and how well it stood up to hot, humid, and rainy conditions during the trial season. One AAS Judge added, “Quite a nice plant. Great bloom color showed color 3-5 days earlier than comparisons. Great branching, old blooms consistently covered by new growth. Great color and coverage all season, looked beautiful later in the season as well. Stunning variety.” This prized distinction winner will be planted at the Teaching & Display Garden at the Spooner Ag Research Station and available for your viewing this summer.
