According to research being undertaken by Nathan Hecht, a University of Minnesota Graduate Research Assistant, a flower strip can improve berry production. He used Borage in his research and found that strawberry plants that were 25-50 feet from the flower strip had the best pollination. It also showed that native bees and some fly species are important for fruit production.
